Tower Hill especially targeted our home as one they did not want to insure because they were afraid they might have to pay out something for our roof. Our complaint with Tower Hill is that the date of the claim was 12/24/21 and that it only took them 2 business days, on 12/28/21 to determine that they would not renew our homeowner's policy due to "Reduction of Hurricane Exposure." This determination was underhanded and suspicious and was not made with all the facts involved. We have a letter dated 1/6/22 from Tower HIll confirming that the claim was closed and no loss payment was made. When we arrived home on January 5, 2022, we withdrew the claim and no payment was ever made by Tower HIll. It was upon bad advice from our roofer that we even filed a claim with Tower Hill. The reason was "Reduction of Hurricane Exposure." We did not see their 12/28/21 letter of nonrenewal until January 5th, 2022 as we were away from 12/28/21 to 1/5/22.īefore we ever started the reroof, we fully expected to pay for the new roof and not involve our insurance company. Two business days later, on 12/28/21, Tower Hill generated a letter stating that they would not renew our homeowner's policy. On 12/24/21, Tower Hill wrote a letter confirming that they were opening a claim and included the claim number. Relying on the roofer's advice, we filed a homeowner's insurance claim on 12/23/21 and Tower HIll had their adjuster come out that day to look at the roof. During the tear off, our roofer advised us that we may have an insurance claim for our roof as the old tiles were not even adhering to the roof possibly because of wind. tore off our old roof in advance of installing a new tile roof.
